The main purpose of the specialists of LLC Donbassmontazhspetsstroy during the installation process at construction sites is ensuring the most beneficial technical and economic indexes in order to minimize the assembly process duration as well as labor costs.
The key to modern installation process is in the efficient pre-assembling of units and accessories into installation blocks as well as sufficient methods of lifting and placing the installation blocks into their designated positions. Handover for commissioning and start up then occurs upon completing the final facility integration.
Installation procedures for mechanical systems are developed by the design company, LLC Donbass montazhproect, which is a subsidiary of the Corporation. The company which was founded in Donetsk on the basis of Ukrmontazhorgstroy (subdivision of Minmontazhspetsstroy of Ukrainian republic) started in the 1960s. Currently, the company is deemed to be the only design company in Eastern Ukraine highly qualified in the preparation of construction plans and work implementation plans for mechanical installations.
Having close partnership with the leading design companies of Ukraine and Russia, Donbassmontazhproect prepares construction organization plans as part of technical and economical feasibility of investment studies for them. Furthermore, the company prepares work implementation plans for the installation of structures and equipment of large industrial units, facilities and objects of high complexity for almost all industrial branches of Ukraine, Russia and the abroad.
Along with construction plans and work implementation plans (if required) the company develops technical documentation for dismantling (during re-construction) special installation equipment and accessories and for the installation of structures, equipment and units of higher complexity which are often deemed unique.
During the period of activity LLC Donspetsmontazhproect gained experience in development as follow:
• Pre-assembly methods (units of less detail) of overhead cranes with capacity of up to 450 ton, CCM with LF and VP-plants, steel making furnace with capacity of up to 120 ton, BOF with capacity of up to 350 ton, reduction mills, sinter plants, TV tower and TV masts as well as the other unique developments providing efficient installation works with high quality
• Method of shifting the pre-assembled blast furnaces into designated position (in case of full reconstruction)
• Roof structures are pre-assembled into large, yet transportable, sections at ground level facilities. These roof sections are then transported to the construction site and lifted into place for final assembly on a building
• Design, inspection and reconstruction of lifting equipment (gantry crane, overheads cranes, frame cranes, caterpillar cranes, wheel-mounted cranes etc.)
• Installation of draglines (large capacity mobile excavators) at construction sites or mining operations by on-site assembly of pre-assembled sub-sections
• Unit by unit method of organization and control of construction of large complexes and complex facilities by applying the use of integrated material flow charts and schedules
Nowadays, under modern market conditions, customers are outsourcing installation projects more often to installation companies which become responsible for the successful completion of all the terms of the contract.
As a result of installation methods developed by LLC Donspetsmontazhproect the specialists of LLC Donbassmontazhspetsstroy have demonstrated the ability to reduce the overall terms of commissioning and start-up of construction projects by significantly reducing the installation period.
For instance, this target was reached during the reconstruction of plate rolling mill 2800 in 2006. Due to the use of a process flow chart for the sequential assembly of finishing and roughing stands, developed mutually by the specialists of OJSC, AMK and OJSC Donspetsmontazhproetc, the installation was carried out in only 42 days.
